01

The logo

Signal + Waves = Handshake. Technology and trust in one circular mark, built on a strict construction.

The brief

A mission-critical service that looked like any telecom provider.

Deepsea keeps offshore operations connected 24/7, in conditions most people never see. The company grew on reputation and field experience, but its brand and website looked like any telecom provider: nothing showed the reliability, the people or the environments the service is built for. And every partner and ambassador described the company differently.

Goal

A brand and digital presence that match the reliability of the field teams, and one source of truth for everyone who represents Deepsea.

Values

Field-led, straight, accountable, human.

Direction

Show offshore reality: real crews, real sea states. Technical credibility without jargon. A system the team can run on its own.

What they really needed

Make a service nobody sees visible, and keep the brand consistent without a designer in every conversation.

02

The identity system

Story, values and tone first, then colour, gradients, type, imagery, patterns and a signal system for data.

Positioning

Deepsea Networks keeps offshore operations connected, built by people who have worked out there.

Field-led

Start from the situation on board, not from the product.

Straight

Plain language, real numbers, no hype.

Accountable

Say what happens when it goes wrong, and who fixes it.

Human

Crews, engineers, families: connectivity is about people.

03

The 3D website

A six-chapter descent from the surface to the depth, with a live telemetry HUD and real HTML under every scene.

Decisions

Five decisions, and what I rejected.

  1. 01
    Real offshore footage and crews

A storm-lit ocean and the people who work in it earn trust with operators who know those conditions.

    Rejected

Server rooms, glowing globes and handshake stock photos.

  2. 02
The homepage as a six-chapter descent

Surface, Signal, Descent, Reality, Systems, Depth. The site tells one story and every service sits inside it.

    Rejected

    A standard services grid.

  3. 03
    A telemetry HUD as proof

Link status, sea state and latency on screen show competence before anyone reads a word.

    Rejected

Adjectives like reliable and innovative with nothing behind them.

  4. 04
Real HTML under every WebGL scene

Text and structure stay in the page, so it loads fast, works with screen readers and can be read by Google and AI assistants.

    Rejected

A canvas-only or video-only site that search cannot read.

  5. 05
    Guidelines as a live portal

One Brand OS with guidelines, Ambassador Kit, Post Studio and AI kit keeps a distributed team on brand.

    Rejected

A 60-page PDF that is outdated the day it ships.

04

Brand OS

The guidelines as a live portal the team makes things with: Logo Studio, Pattern Lab, Post Studio and an AI kit.

05

Social system

Post series and carousels the team makes on its own.

06

Ambassador Kit and the brand in action

One link for every partner and ambassador: the same story, told the same way, everywhere.

Problems solved

What was broken, and what I built to fix it.

The problemWhat I built
A mission-critical service nobody can seeA six-chapter 3D website built from real offshore footage
A generic telecom look that earned no trustField-led identity, verbal identity and guidelines V4.1
Partners and ambassadors described Deepsea differentlyA Brand OS portal and an Ambassador Kit, one link each
Every post and signature needed a designerLogo Studio, Pattern Lab, Post Studio and an AI kit the team runs itself
Heavy 3D usually kills SEO and speedReal HTML under every scene, readable by Google and AI assistants
Outcome

A digital presence that matches the field teams.

Deepsea now has a brand, a website and a live brand portal that the team and its ambassadors use without a designer in the loop. The site shows how a B2B infrastructure company can use 3D to explain a service nobody sees. After the rebrand, Deepsea kept me on as brand manager.

Brand + guidelines V4.1

Logo, identity, verbal identity.

3D website

Six chapters, telemetry HUD, HTML-first.

Brand OS

Portal, Ambassador Kit, Post Studio, AI kit.

“Offshore, nobody cares how a brand looks - they care whether you show up. Vedran understood that from the first conversation. The new site finally shows what our teams actually do out there, and the Brand OS means everyone who represents Deepsea tells the same story, the same way.”
