Brand OS Portal

A pitch deck consistency checklist: 18 checks to keep every deck on brand.

Run 18 quick checks on fonts, colours, logo, layout, charts and words. Every deck leaves the building looking like you.

Free: your brand in 3 real designs, in 48 hours.

A pitch deck consistency checklist covers six areas: fonts, colours, logo, layout, charts and words. Check that each slide uses the same rules as the others, and that the deck matches your website and posts.

Run it once before a deck goes out. If you run it often, your layouts have a gap. Fix the layout once and the checks pass by themselves.

Why decks drift off brand.

Every deck starts clean. After ten edits by five people, it is a mix.

Slides are copied from old decks. A new hire adds a slide with their favourite font. A partner pastes a different logo. Each change is small. Together they make the company look unsure.

This is the same problem as brand guidelines nobody follows: the rules live in one place and the work happens in another. See brand compliance and brand consistency for remote teams.

The 18 checks, in six groups.

Three checks each. Fail one and fix it before sending.

Fonts

1-3

Two fonts at most. Same size for the same job on every slide. No fallback font showing on another computer.

Colours

4-6

Brand colours, no others. Accent colour used for one job. Text easy to read on every background.

Logo

7-9

Right file for light and dark. Same spot on every slide. Clear space kept.

Layout

10-12

Same margins. Same headline spot. Images keep their real shape and are never cut.

Charts

13-15

Brand colours in charts. The point is in the title. Labels readable in the back row.

Words

16-18

Same name for the product on every slide. Same voice as the website. Facts match your approved list.

For the rules behind the logo checks, read logo usage guidelines. For the voice checks, read brand voice guidelines.

Sixteen or more ticks is a consistent deck. Fewer than twelve, and the layouts need work, not just this deck.

Deck rules note
Deck rules - please read before editing

1. Start every new slide from the layouts in [file or link]. Do not copy slides from old decks.
2. Fonts: [headline font] and [text font]. No others.
3. Colours: [colour list]. [Accent] is for one thing per slide.
4. Logo: use the file named [file]. Never stretch or recolour it.
5. Charts: brand colours, point in the title.
6. Product name: always written [name].
7. Before sending: run the 18 checks. Export as PDF.

Questions: [name].

Stop checking by hand.

A checklist finds problems. A better setup stops them.

If the same checks fail again and again, move the rules into the layouts. Then slides cannot go wrong in those ways. In a Brand OS Portal, Pitch Deck Builder gives you slides in your brand from your story, so fonts, colours and logo are already right.

A designer is still the right choice for a new identity. For the decks after that, the portal means no approval queue and no blank page.

More: pitch deck without a designer and brand audit checklist.
