Brand OS Portal

Customer testimonial post template: ask, write and post in 15 minutes.

A good testimonial post is one real quote, one real name and one real result, in your brand.

Free: your brand in 3 real designs, in 48 hours.

A customer testimonial post has four parts: the quote, the name and role, the result in one line, and your logo. Keep the quote in the customer's own words and get a yes before you post.

Use the three formats below. Each one fits on one image, so your team can post proof in minutes and not wait for a designer.

Ask, then write.

The post is easy. Getting the quote is the hard part. Make it a two-minute task for the customer.

Message to ask for a quote
Hi [name], thank you for [what they did or bought].
Could you give me one or two sentences on [the result or the change] for us? It can be rough, I will just tidy the spelling.
May I post it on LinkedIn with your name, role and company logo? Yes or no is fine.
If you prefer, I can draft two lines and you can change them.

Never change the meaning of a quote. Never post a name without a yes. More on approved facts in what to include in brand guidelines.

Three testimonial post formats.

Pick the one that fits the proof you have.

Format 1

The quote card

One big quote on a brand colour. Name, role, company under it. Logo in the corner.

Format 2

The number card

One result as a large number, a line of context, and a short quote underneath.

Format 3

The photo card

Customer photo, one line of quote, name and role. Use it when you have a photo you may use.

The image carries the quote. The caption carries the story.

"[One sentence from the customer, exactly as they said it.]"

[What we did, in one line.]
[The result, with the number and the date if you have it.]

[Optional: a link to the full story or case study.]

Use just results you can prove, and keep the source on an approved facts list. Mine is public on the facts page. For voice, see B2B brand voice examples.

What makes testimonial posts fail.

Buyers can smell fake praise fast.

WeakStrong
"Great company, highly recommend!"A sentence about what changed after they started
No name, or a bare given nameFull name, role and company, with their yes
Five stars and no storyOne quote and one number
Stock photo of a smiling personTheir real logo or an approved photo
Posted once, then forgottenPosted again as a case study, a carousel, a reply in sales mail

Looking for a model? My own proof is on the reviews page. Longer proof lives in a case study, like MTG.

Keep every proof post on brand.

If three people post testimonials, you get three looks. Fix that once.

Lock the card: logo, fonts, colours and quote marks. Open the quote, name, role and photo. Then anyone in sales or marketing can post proof the same day. See locked vs open parts for how to decide what stays fixed.

A Brand OS Portal holds those locked cards and the voice rules in one place. Your team makes the post. Nobody waits for a designer. A designer is still the right call when you need strategy or a new identity.

Straight answers.

How do I ask a customer for a testimonial?

Send a short message that asks for one or two sentences on the result, and ask for a yes on posting their name and logo. Offer to draft two lines if they are busy.

What should a testimonial post include?

The quote, the name and role, the company, one line on the result, and your logo. A number helps.

Can I edit a customer quote?

Fix spelling, nothing else. Never change the meaning. If you want it shorter, send the shorter version for approval.

Do I need permission to post a testimonial?

Get a clear yes before you post a name, photo or logo. Keep the message as a record.

How do I keep testimonial posts on brand?

Use one locked card design and let the team change just the quote, name, role and photo.
