Problem 1
Which file?
Ten logo files with similar names. People pick the one that looks right.
Drive is great for storing files. A brand portal is made for using them right.
A Google Drive folder stores your brand files and shares them with one link. A brand portal also shows the rules next to each file and lets people make on-brand posts, banners and signatures.
If one or two people use the brand, Drive is often enough. If many people, partners or AI tools use it, a brand portal saves time and stops off-brand work.
Drive is a good tool. It is just not a brand tool.

Problem 1
Ten logo files with similar names. People pick the one that looks right.
Problem 2
The files are there. The clear space rule and colour pairs are not.
Problem 3
People download, edit and re-upload. Now there are two "final" logos.
Problem 4
A file is not a post. Someone still has to design the post.
Problem 5
One editor moves a folder and links stop working for partners.
Problem 6
AI tools need clear voice rules and facts, not a folder of images.

The right answer can be both: Drive for working files, a portal for the finished brand. See what a brand portal is and what a Brand OS is.
These settings stop most of the mess.

Try one Brand OS Portal tool
This is a real tool from a real Brand OS Portal, on the MTG brand. Type your line, pick a layout and download an on-brand LinkedIn banner.
You can use it as a brand folder. It stores and shares files well. It does not show rules next to files or help people make on-brand work.
For a small team, a clean Drive folder may be enough. When many people make brand material, a brand portal with rules and makers works better. See brand asset management for small teams.
Make one partner folder, share it as Viewer, and put a one-page rules document inside. Never share single files.
