LinkedIn banner size for your company page and your whole team
Use 1512 x 256 pixels for a LinkedIn company page banner and 1584 x 396 pixels for a personal profile banner. Keep the words away from the spot where the profile photo or logo sits.
Be careful with old guides. Many still say 1128 x 191 for company pages. I checked LinkedIn's help page for Pages on 1 November 2026, and it lists 1512 x 256 as the recommended cover size. Its help page for profiles lists 1584 x 396. LinkedIn can change these, so I keep a date on this page.
The sizes
| Where | Size in pixels | Source | What I would do |
|---|---|---|---|
| Company page cover | 1512 x 256 | LinkedIn help, PNG or JPEG, up to 3 MB | Use this |
| Company page logo | 400 x 400 | LinkedIn help, PNG or JPEG, up to 3 MB | Use this |
| Personal profile banner | 1584 x 396 | LinkedIn help, JPG or PNG, under 8 MB | Use this |
| Old company size | 1128 x 191 | Older guides | Do not use it for new files |
A note on file size. LinkedIn allows up to 3 MB for a company cover and under 8 MB for a personal banner. Stay under 3 MB and you pass both. For the sharpest company cover, LinkedIn suggests a high-resolution JPEG.

Where not to put things
LinkedIn says your cover may be trimmed to fit the screen, and it suggests limited text. The photo also covers part of a personal banner. Here is my simple rule, which comes from my own work and not from LinkedIn:
- Personal banner: your photo usually sits low on the left. Keep the left third free of words.
- Company banner: your logo usually sits low on the left too. Keep that area free of words as well.
- Both: keep words in the middle band, away from the top and bottom edges.
- Phone: the banner looks small. If you cannot read it on a phone, the type is too small.
Do not trust a preview in your design tool. Upload it, then look at it on your own phone and on a laptop.
A layout you can copy
Most banners fail because they try to say too much. A banner gets one job. Use this layout:
| Zone | What goes there |
|---|---|
| Left third | Nothing but your color or pattern |
| Middle | One line: what the company does, for who |
| Right | Small logo, or a simple brand shape |
Here are three lines you can adapt:
Cloud security for hospitalsPayroll software for teams under 200Route planning for delivery fleets
Say what you do in plain words. Skip "innovation" and "the future of." Nobody can picture those.
How to get your whole team on one look
When a buyer checks your sales lead, they see that person's banner. So a team banner does real work.
Here is how I would run it.
1. Make 3 designs, not 1. Use one for sales, one for general staff and one for hiring or a live event. In my view, people use a banner more when they get to pick.
2. Leave the name out. LinkedIn already shows the name right below. Without names, one file works for everyone. If you want each person's role on it, you will need a tool or a template, so wait on that.
3. Put the files in one link. Use a simple page or a shared folder with clear names, such as linkedin-banner-sales-1584x396.png.
4. Ask, do not force. It is their own profile. So tell them why it helps, and make it easy.
5. Send this message:
Hi team,
We made new LinkedIn banners. Using one takes 1 minute,
and it helps buyers connect you to the company.
Pick one here: [LINK]
To change yours:
1. Go to your LinkedIn profile.
2. Click the edit icon on your banner.
3. Upload the file and save.
It is your profile, so this is up to you. If you try it,
tell me how it looks on your phone. The steps are simple, and LinkedIn can move buttons around. So test them on your own profile the day you send this. Then check your team a week later and thank the people who switched.
6. Refresh it for big moments. A rebrand or a large launch is a good reason. Do not change it every month. People will stop bothering.
What to check before you send it out
- Right size, in pixels
- Under 3 MB
- One message, not three
- Words stay out of the photo and logo area
- You can read it on a phone
- Logo is the current version
- Colors match your brand file
- Letters are not cut off at the edges
The easy way to keep this up
All of this works, and you can do it today. The hard part comes later. Someone joins and has no banner. You launch something and need 12 new ones. The designer is busy, so people make their own in Canva.
This is one job Brand OS Portal does. It is one online place made for your brand. LinkedIn Banners sit next to Social Studio, Signature Builder and Logo Studio: a banner for every person and every launch.

I was Branding Lead at MTG and Brand Manager at Deepsea Networks, so I have seen this job from inside a team. I have made 250+ brands in 8 years, and it is always the small files that drift.
You can try the tools now, on a real brand, with no email: Social Studio and Logo Studio. One fixed price to build it. A small monthly Care fee keeps it running. Rather talk? Book 15 minutes.
FAQ
What is the LinkedIn company page banner size? LinkedIn's help page lists 1512 x 256 pixels as the recommended cover image size. The company logo is 400 x 400 pixels. I last checked on 1 November 2026.
What is the LinkedIn personal banner size? LinkedIn's help page for profiles lists 1584 x 396 pixels, as a JPG or PNG under 8 MB.
Why do some sites say 1128 x 191? That is an older company page figure, and many guides have not updated it. For new files, use the size on LinkedIn's help page.
Can my company make employees use a banner? I would not push it. It is a personal profile. Offer good designs and explain why they help. Check your own HR rules if you are not sure.
What should a company LinkedIn banner say? One plain line: what you do and who it is for. Add a small logo if you like. Keep it short enough to read on a phone.
How often should I change it? When your message or look really changes. A big launch or a rebrand is a good time. A monthly change just makes more work.
